Be Mobile
I came up with this post title, "be mobile," because for me it captures the importance of moving, walking, and taking photos. All of us can benefit from a walk, and one of the easiest ways to make it fun is to take photos with your phone, such as this image I took during a lunch break in Pioneer Square.

I looked for resources to share with you that could inspire us to get out on a walk and to take more photos. Hope you find them helpful.
Walking Resources:
Even if you are not new to walking, the American College of Sports Medicine is a terrific site to check out. Its Starting a Walking Program page is chocked full of tips and recommendations. They cover points about clothing, how to walk safely, and how to make walking fun. They also give a good guide to your activity level based upon the number of steps you take. For example a person who walks 0-5,000 steps a day is considered sedentary. To be considered active you need to walk 10,000-12,000 steps. It does encourage you to pick up the pace, although it is important to measure your ability before doing too much.

Not all of us are able to walk without pain, so I found the Arthritis Foundation's Walk with Ease Program a good resource. They have a series of short videos that go through many stretches that you can do before and after you walk. Although these may be familiar, it is a helpful guide to other exercises that you can add to your routine. I injured my foot a few weeks ago, and I once again was reminded to take better care of my feet as well as my legs.
Photo Ideas:
Recently I stumbled across several articles that focus on how to take better images with your phone. I have written a few posts, but Apple has a new page on their site with good, short videos focusing on composition and phone tips. Although it is focused on using the iPhone 7, you can use the ideas on other type of phones. Here are a few I found very useful.
How to take a close up photo
How to shoot in low light
How to capture a unique angle
How to shoot action photos
