Be Visible When Walking In The Dark

Getting in you daily walk when it is dark at 4:30pm is really a challenge! You may decide to leave your camera at home, but PLEASE remember to wear your reflective gear! It is so hard to see people along the side of the road at this time of year...even in the late afternoon. We are incredible proponents of reflective gear anytime you are walking!

This is one of my favorite vests that can be purchased on Amazon. The VizBrite ANSI Safety Vest with a pocket and zipper is so easy to throw on over a coat or rain gear and drivers will see you easily, coming from both directions!

Last week, I experienced a very scarry situation...there was a walker out in the dark of the evening wearing black pants and jacket. Luckily, she had a headlamp on and was walking towards me, so I picked up the light, which she likely perceived was making her visible. However, once I passed her, she was totally INVISIBLE, because she had no reflective gear! Had I been coming the other direction, I would not have seen her in the driving rain!!! PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF VISIBLE from both directions!

If you take your dog out for an evening walk, don't forget, you pup needs reflective gear too! I like to always keep a reflective collar on my dog, so he will be seen by cars in case he gets loose. Putting him in a reflective dog vest helps drivers to see both you and him (or her!) much better. The same goes for a good reflective leash.
