"Spooky" Camera Walking 2016

Halloween is being celebrated tomorrow throughout the U.S. and in many other countries around the world. It is a great holiday for Camera Walking, so I am sharing an updated post from last year to give you ideas on how to make the most of this holiday. Enjoy!

For the past week, I have been exploring my neighborhood for signs of the approaching holiday. You can always tell where the children (or the young of heart) live by the decorations.

Some of my neighbors have gotten very creative exhibiting large pieces like this friendly looking pumpkin (although the fingers look scary) greeting trick-or-treaters on the street.

And then there are the creative folks who not only decorated their house and yard, but the sidewalk in front! I was quite impressed. I used the Midnight filter in my Color Efex Pro Nik Software collection to give it a little more drama.

Some of the houses are quite dramatic, such as this one below. I don't like spiders, so this would keep me away.

I loved capturing the various pumpkins ready for Halloween.

And this sad looking pumpkin. I used the Overpaint filter in Topaz Impression 2 to highlight the image.

If you plan on taking photos while out in the evening, here is an article I found with good photo tips. One last thing. If you want to see what some creative folks did to celebrate Halloween, take a look at this video. You won't be disappointed.

We would love to hear from you, so please comment below, post on our Facebook page, or send us an email. Get out there tomorrow Camera Walking and enjoy the Halloween season.
